Joffre Wells

Mohegan, the globally recognized entertainment and gaming brand, is gearing up for an impactful 2024 with strategic additions and promotions to its leadership team. The announcement today highlighted the appointment of Joffre Wells as the Vice President of Capital Markets, Investor Relations, and Corporate Treasurer, along with the elevation of Kelly Leung and Kelly Sullivan to significant roles within the organization.

Joffre Wells, formerly a Global Macro Trader for Brandywine Global in Philadelphia, PA, and Global Rates Trader – Vice President for BlackRock in New York, NY, brings a wealth of financial expertise to Mohegan. As the newly appointed VP, he will play a pivotal role in capital planning, leveraging his proficiency in fixed income, interest rate management, and foreign exchange hedging. Additionally, Joffre will strengthen investor and banking relationships while contributing to strategic projects in accounting, financial planning and analysis, and Team Member development.

Ray Pineault, President & CEO of Mohegan, expressed enthusiasm about Wells’ addition, stating, “We’re thrilled to have Joffre Wells join our team as his leadership and financial expertise are a perfect fit for our organization, especially as we continue to grow as a premier operator of integrated entertainment resorts.”

Kelly Leung, with over 27 years of experience in the entertainment and gaming industry, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of International Marketing. A crucial part of the Asian Marketing efforts at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, Leung will expand his responsibilities to include Mohegan’s international portfolio, including Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and the recently opened Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in Incheon, South Korea.

Kelly Sullivan, a longstanding member of the Mohegan family since 2013, has climbed the ranks within the organization. Starting as the Director of Career and Leadership Development, she progressed to Director of Global Human Resources and Development and eventually assumed the role of Director of Global People Operations in 2019. In her latest role, Sullivan will oversee and lead the Corporate People Operations team, managing recruiting, hiring, onboarding, engagement, performance management, and other high-level internal business operations for Mohegan.

The leadership reshuffle comes on the heels of Mohegan’s international expansion with the recent soft-opening of its eighth property, Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort, in Incheon, South Korea. The resort boasts state-of-the-art attractions, including three hotel towers with 1,275 rooms, Korea’s first multi-purpose arena, MICE facilities, signature restaurants, Aurora (a cutting-edge digital entertainment street), and more. The next phase, featuring a foreigner-only casino and retail offerings, is scheduled for an early 2024 launch, with additional facilities opening within the first half of 2024.

As Mohegan looks ahead to 2024, these strategic appointments and promotions underscore the brand’s commitment to excellence and growth in the global entertainment and gaming industry.
